
University of Hawaii volleyball star Yuval Katz signed a one-year contract today with a professional team in Greece.Katz will play for MGS ETHNIKOS, Alexanderopoulis. "I only signed a one-year contract because I really hope that the NVL (National Volleyball League) will start next year, and I'll get to go play for Hawaii again," Katz said from his home in Israel. "The Greek league is considered the second best in Europe, after Italy, and has some of the best players in the world."
Alexanderopoulis ranked sixth of 12 teams in Greece's first division last year. The volleyball season there runs from October through May.
