A sidewalk is reduced to rubble yesterday as part of a $25,225 project to restore the front gate and driveway of historic Iolani Palace to resemble their appearance during the Hawaiian monarchy period. The sidewalks will be replaced by flower beds of periwinkle and joy weed.
