State Tourism Training Council: "Introduction to Training Tools" and "Airport Services for International Visitors," courses offered Aug. 1-27.

The Hookipa Aloha Council will show managers and trainers how to use the tools in "Introduction to Training Tools," from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 8; 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 21 (brown bag sessions); 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 22; 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 27; and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 27.

"Airport Services for International Visitors," is available from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday; 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 8; 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 13; 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13; and 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 26.

LEGAL

Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education: The first Legal Technology Symposium, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Aug. 15, Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. Cost: $165. The symposium will discuss the latest technology for use in the courtroom and the law office to be more productive, cost-efficient and client-friendly. Call 956-6551.

Hawaii Lawyers Care: Legal clinic to assist low-income individuals and families with legal problems, 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 24, Waialua Community Association, 66-434 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa. Call 528-7046 for an appointment.

Two services will be offered - a two-part do-it-yourself divorce clinic co-sponsored by the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii and the Domestic Violence Clearinghouse and Legal Hotline; and a 30-minute advice/consultation session with volunteer attorneys. Cost: $30 for the divorce clinic and no charge for the consultation session.


GRANTS

The Grantsmanship Center: Grantsmanship Training Program, a five-day workshop Aug. 26-30 to learn to write grant proposals, Maui Research and Technology Center, Kihei. The workshop covers researching for grants, learning to use the center's proposal-writing format, negotiating with funding sources and online grant information systems on the Internet.

Cost: $595 per person and $545 for each additional person, including materials. Partial scholarships available through Maui County. Call 875-2307.
