William "Bill" Ah Fong, also known as Amen, 75, of Hilo, a retired Fire Department captain who worked as a part-time tour guide for several tour companies and a deliveryman for Panaewa Eggs, died Tuesday at home. Ah Fong, a World War II veteran, is survived by wife Deolinda M.; son Stanley; daughters Wendy and Donna Rabang; brother George; sister Margaret Silva; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Benita "Bonnie" Asuncion, 67, of Ewa Beach died last Friday in Hawaii. She is survived by son Vincent Talaro Jr.; daughter Janice Talaro; son Thomas Talaro; sister Rachel Bautista; brother Edwin; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Private services. No flowers.

Dr. Robert F. Bailey, 85, a retired Honolulu physician/surgeon, died last Friday in Queen's Hospital. Bailey, a U.S. Navy veteran, was one of the original members of the Board of Governors of the Hawaii Medical Library. He is survived by wife Amelia A.K.; daughter Beryl Blaich; sons James, Clifton, William "Speedy" and John; and eight grandchildren. William "Chuck" Barros, 37, of Cleveland, native of Hawaii, a Maytag employee, died Saturday in Cleveland. Barros, a former U.S. Army sergeant, is survived by wife Gail C.; daughters Alicia and Tiffany; father Antone; brothers Tony, Abel, Kenneth, Eddie and Frank; and sisters Carol Lopez, Michelle and Edith Barros, Li Kahala, Sue Pace and Bea Ichelson. Constance O. Botelho, 87, of Honolulu died Saturday in the Aloha Health Care Center. She is survived by daughter Gwendolyn Sterling; brother Lester Oliveira; sisters Jeanette Quallen and Violet Gilligan; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pedro P. Castro, 84, of Kaneohe, a retired school custodian, died July 18 in Pohai Nani Care Center. Diane L. de Vault, also known as Betty diane de Vault Fajardo, 87, of the Virgin Islands, formerly of Honolulu, died Feb. 17 in the Virgin Islands. She is survived by son Don T. Dr. Gilbert M. Halpern, 87, of Honolulu, a retired Dole Pineapple doctor who also had his own practice, died July 15 in Honolulu.
