Wahine tickets a priority item

Season tickets sales for the University of Hawaii women's volleyball team have already more than doubled last year's total after just three days of sales.

In 1995, 1,534 season tickets were sold. So far, 3,084 season tickets have been purchased this year.

Tickets are on sale through Friday and Monday and Tuesday at the UH ticket office near gate A at the Special Events Arena.

UH will open the season at home in the Wahine Classic, featuring Louisville, Michigan and UCLA, Aug. 30, Sept. 1-2.

MOVERS' TIME CHANGES

Due to electrical problems at Rainbow Stadium, all of this week's Hawaii Island Movers baseball games will have earlier starting times.

Games tomorrow through Friday, originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m., will start at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday's doubleheader has been moved up to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday's game has a 3 p.m. start time.

The UH Baseball Camps will go on as normal.

WAIALAE WINNERS

Makoto Kamio won low gross honors with a 152 in the Waialae Women's Invitational golf tournament held yesterday at the Waialae Country Club.

June Emerling captured low net honors with a 135.

Championship flight winners were Judy Tonda, low gross (157) and Mal-Ja Kwon, low net (142).

ILLUSION CLOSEST
TO PACIFIC CUP FINISH

Nineteen yachts passed the halfway point yesterday in the Pacific Cup yacht race from San Francisco to Oahu, with Illusion closest to the finish.

Although Illusion, which leads the Doublehanded I Division, is closest to the end of the 2,070-nautical-mile race to Kaneohe Bay, Division A boat Andante is believed to be the overall leader when handicaps are figured, race officials said.
