Loretta Swit will do "Shirley Valentine."

The play is the story of a tired housewife who longs to escape her life and experience adventure. She mimics everyone in her life, and becomes these characters while drawing the audience in with her sadness and humor. Swit has performed the play more than 500 times.

The Oahu show will be at 8 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Hawaii Theatre. Tickets are $24.50 and $29.50 ($2.50 discount for senior citizens) and go on sale Monday at the theater box office and at Connection outlets. The Maui show will be at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1 at Castle Theatre, Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Tickets are $25.50 and $17.50 and are available at the center box office.
