"I'm like the middle gear, helping communications run smoothly so as to avoid any misunderstandings or complaints that might arise due to language, cultural or legal differences," Lee said.

He last worked as contract manager with the U.S. Department of Defense in Seoul. He also has worked for Bridgestone USA Inc. tire company in Kansas City, Mo., and the Johnson & Higgins insurance brokerage company in Atlanta.

Lee speaks Korean, Japanese and English. He earned a bachelor's degree in international marketing at Ohio State University.
