Sharpe moves up at Stryker Weiner

Family trips, eco-tourism, and the making of travel arrangements on the Internet will shape the future of tourism, says Catherine Pescaia Sharpe, recently named senior vice president at Stryker Weiner Associates where she handles travel marketing and promotional accounts.

She joined the company in 1986.

Sharpe also is chair of the Pacific Asia Travel Association's Hawaii chapter, a 200-

member organization of travel industry professionals. PATA is planning its annual international tourism marketing symposium for October, she said.

Sharpe also serves as vice president of P.A.R.E.N.T.S. (Providing Awareness, Referrals, Education, Nurturing, Therapy and Support), a nonprofit group offering counseling for child abuse and neglect cases.

A Punahou School graduate, she earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and psychology at the University of Oregon.
