Make Music! Festival: Professional and amateur musicians celebrate the summer solstice with performances Friday through Sunday. The music begins 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Honolulu Academy of Arts, with Cindy Wong, the Peking Opera, the Community Brass Quintet and the Gleemen Plus of Honolulu.

Free festival of music and dance and continues noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday at Honolulu Hale and Civic Center grounds. With ethnic food and crafts.

"Hot Summer Salsa!" concert series: Featuring Darryl Castilo and Challenge, 7 p.m. Friday, First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu. Tickets $6.50 in advance, $7.50 at the door; available at the church, Agape Shoppe, Logos Bookstore and Rhema Christian Resource Center. Call 532-1111.

The Pharcyde in concert: Doors open 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Groove, 1130 N. Nimitz Highway. Tickets $12.50, available at Hungry Ear Records, Tower Records (Kahala, Pearl Kai), Tower Video (Kapiolani), Pearl Harbor

Bagpipe concert: Mark Reed demonstrates his skill on the Scottish instrument, 7 p.m. Saturday, Paki Hale. Free. Reed received the 1995 Award for Youth Education from the Caledonian Society of Hawaii and studied at the College of Piping in Glasgow, Scotland.

"Hawaii from the Heart": Program of Hawaiian culture and music and dance with the Brothers Cazimero, 5 p.m. Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, Bishop Museum. Concert begins 7 p.m. General admission $47.50 for tour, picnic-style supper and concert, $32.50 tour and concert only; kama'aina, $37.50 and $22.50. Reserve at 847-MELE (847-6353).
