Service is new theme at insurance bureau

The Hawaii Insurance Bureau Inc., which provides underwriting information for nearly 1,000 insurance companies and agencies in property and casualty lines, is focusing on service.

"The bureau's new theme is 'employees as partners' and our new logo is a petroglyph of a paddler because they have to work in harmony," said Jeannette Sullivan, new bureau president.

Sullivan came to the bureau five years ago as operations manager, then advanced to corporate secretary and chief operations officer. She also has worked at the U.S. embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, and at Garuda Imports, which imported art and clothing into Southeast Asia.

She earned a bachelor's degree in political science at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., and a master's degree in international affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
