
Hayashi, representing the Hilo Municipal Course, won $1,600 and earned the right to represent Hawaii in the PGA Assistant Professional Championship in Florida starting Oct. 29.
Randy Mitchell of Navy-Marine was the runner-up with a 141 while Hualalai's Aaron Bengochea finished third at 142. Mitchell won $1,000 and Bengochea $800.
In other matches, Bev Kim eliminated Gaylen Kanada, 1-up; Keiki-Dawn Izumi turned back Yuko Kawashita, 4 and 3, and Kalaya Bhaedhayajibh ousted Makoto Kamio, 6 and 5.
The semifinals are today and the finals tomorrow at the OCC course.
The three-day tournament will feature European champion Netherlands; Japan, the No. 2 seed in the Olympics; 1995 World Cup champion Cuba, and Team USA, with former Wahine All-American Teee Williams. Honolulu is the only U.S. host site.
In response to complaints that tickets were too expensive last year, the prices have been cut by as much as 50 percent, according to event organizer, Eagle International Group. Single-day prices for the three-day tournament range from $7.50 to $25.

Joining Murray will be former NPC Nationals winners Shawn Ray and Don Long, as well as Hawaii's Paula Suzuki, women's champion of the 1995 NPC Nationals in New Orleans.
Also on the program is the seventh Jr. Hawaiian Islands championship and the NPC Hawaii Fitness Contest.
