Leighton K. Beck Jr., 48, of Hilo, proprietor of Nakulu'ai Installation Inc., died Monday. Beck, a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, is survived by companion Charlotte Kaopua; sons Kaikala Kaopua, Leigh K. Estrella and Shane A. Beck; parents Leighton Kalealii and Esther K. Beck; brothers Eugene, Dayton N. and Duane A. Beck and Phillip Ke; sisters Bertha Young, Yvonne K. Ke, and Eleanor K., Rolna U., Lani and Zelie K. Georgia H. Kochenour, 70, of Kailua died yesterday. Shuichi Matsushima, 81, of Lahaina, a retired Maui Pineapple Co. agriculturist, died Saturday in St. Francis Hospice. He is survived by brothers Hideo and Haruo; and sisters Fusako Nojima and Asako Nakatsu. Private services.

William P. Mendez, 80, of Kula, Maui, a retired U.S. Navy officer, died May 12 in Kula Hospital. He is survived by daughter Charlene M. Oudemolen; and sons William Jr., Paul and Louis "Tony." Ashes were scattered at sea.

Edna T. Nakamura, 83, of Honolulu, a retired office manager for Hawaii Hotel & Restaurant Supply Inc., died Saturday in Hale Pulama Mau. She is survived by husband Clarence K. Memorial service: 10 a.m. tomorrow at Hosoi Garden Mortuary. Casual attire. No flowers.

Shigemi N. Tomita, 77, of Kekaha, Kauai, a retired Kekaha School custodian, died June 6 in Kauai Veterans Hospital.
