Isle architectural firm expanding
its horizons

Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, known for its resort designs, is getting into new types of architecture and planning. The firm has completed work in more than 80 countries.

"We're involved with the leisure industry, and we've also added entertainment, theme parks and time-sharing (projects)," said Sunny Choi, the company's new chief financial officer.

Choi, a native of South Korea, moved to Santa Clara, Calif., as a teen-ager. She came to Hawaii in late 1979 and joined the company in 1986.

Choi graduated cum laude in 1983 from the Brigham Young University in Hawaii, earning a bachelor's degree in accounting. She became a certified public accountant in 1986, gained U.S. citizenship in 1987 and earned a master's degree in business administration in 1992 at the University of Hawaii.
