Pan-Pacific Festival-Matsuri in Hawaii: The 17th annual festival of Pacific Rim cultures begins with a kagura

performance 10:30 a.m. and opening ceremony 11 a.m. at Ala Moana Centerstage, and continues with Japanese street entertainment at the Ala Moana and Royal Hawaiian shopping centers.

Arts, crafts and products of Hiroshima Prefecture are on display through Sunday in the Ala Moana Exhibition Area. Crafts and folk art are on sale 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Sunday in the Ala Moana Hotel's Hibiscus Ballroom. Matsuri runs through June 23. Call 924-8804.

Music Break: Sweet Basil plays smooth jazz, noon, Tamarind Park.
