Morris to oversee
Queen's managed care units

All the existing managed care plans by Queen's Health Systems - in four separate companies - are being unified in a new division led by Dr. John F. Morris.

The four units serve a total of about 167,000 people.

Morris also will oversee Queen's interest in a new managed care entity, QPH Health. The new program is a joint venture of the Queen's Health Systems, the 480-member Queen's Physicians Group and the Hawaii Medical Service Association.

"We expect to be marketing this product in October," Morris said.

He first joined Queen's in February 1995 as president of Queen's/Physicians Management Care, which fostered the development of QPH Health.

Morris, an internist in Hawaii since 1963, also has worked at Tripler Medical Center and Maui Medical Group.

He earned his bachelor's and medical degrees at Cornell University.
