OPENING

"Sakura: The Bandit Princess": A country girl becomes a powerful princess in medieval Japan, 8 p.m. Friday, Kennedy Theatre. Kati Kuroda ("Picture Bride") plays all nine characters in the sequel to Kikue Tashiro's "The Bandit Princess." Directed by Penny Bergman, instrumental music by Yukio Tsuji. "Rakugo": English-language performance of a classical storytelling tradition from Japan, 2 p.m. Sunday, Kennedy Theatre. "The Watcher of Waipuna": Businessmen and a greedy sister urge a man possessed by different personalities to sell his property. Keith K. Kashiwada directs his adaptation of Gary Pak's black comedy. Cast includes Rodney Kwock, Dann Seki, Margaret Jones and JanDee Abraham. Repeats 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday, at Kumu Kahua Theatre.
