The romance of Hawaii for much of the 20th century was promoted on film, radio and television. That idealized view is explored by Desoto Brown, manager of the Bishop Museum collection of moving images, on "Visitors' Visions" on "Spectrum Hawaii" at 7:30 p.m. today on KHET.
Brown shares film clips, promotional materials from the Matson ships - such as menus and brochures, recordings from the "Hawaii Calls" radio show that was broadcast from 1935 to 1975, and a segment from a 1962 Australian television show.
