Continental executive to join Hawaiian Air

Hawaiian Airlines Inc. has named Michael J. McQuay, a former Continental Airlines executive, as its new executive vice president for operations and chief operating officer.

McQuay started with Continental in 1971 as a passenger service agent and worked in airport operations. He held executive positions in maintenance operations and customer service and became president and chief executive of Continental Micronesia, which runs Continental's Asia-Pacific services.

Most recently, McQuay was vice president in charge of Continental's Houston hub. At Hawaiian, he replaces Frank L. Forster, senior vice president and chief operating officer, who retires June 15.



Molokai businesses form association

Nine companies have formed the Molokai Business Association.

Luigi Manera of Architectural Drafting Services, the group's president, said the association supports "well-planned growth."

"This includes preservation of our island lifestyle; promotion of agriculture, small business, and the visitor industry; and improvement in education, communication, transportation, health care, and our island infrastructure."

Other officers are: Dan Kuhn of Coffees of Hawaii, vice president; Tim Stack of Integrated Coffee Technology, corporate secretary; and Mike Rogers of Ikaika O Molokai, treasurer.
