West Coast deal feather in cap for Huber

When First Hawaiian Bank takes over 31 branches in Oregon, Washington and Idaho on June 3, Thomas Huber will be all smiles. Huber has been active in the legal work related to the bank's mergers and acquisitions in recent years.

"We had an unusually large number of regulatory approvals: state approvals, Federal Reserve, FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.) and the Office of Thrift Supervision," said Huber, recently promoted to executive vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary of the bank's legal group.

Huber came to the bank as a senior vice president in 1993. Prior to that, he spent 25 years at the law firm of Cades Schutte Fleming & Wright.

He earned a bachelor's degree at Marquette University and a bachelor's of law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
