Find living space in cyberspace

The Internet won't make Hawaii's houses any cheaper, but at least you can search them fast with the new Honolulu Board of Realtors property listing site.

To prowl Honolulu property listings, go to http://www.hbr.com.

The Realtors' new site includes a map of Honolulu and a search engine. It boasts 6,000 single-family homes and condominiums up for sale. Most come with color pictures, prices and brief descriptions.

Sorry, there are no addresses included, so if you want to find out the specific location you will have to click on the listing agent, who will be glad to move you from cyberspace to living space.

Waianae High celebrates

Here's the reason those dedicated webmasters out at Waianae High School, http://www.aloha.net/~waianhi, are celebrating: They won third place in an international competition among 360 schools entered from 30 countries.

The project, "A Virtual Tour of the Waianae Coast," was designed for the International Schools CyberFair 96 and featured an interactive tour with interviews, historical documentation and cultural explanations.

Teachers Norman Chock and Candy Suiso helped the students from Waianae's mass media and gifted and talented social studies classes.

The Internet site bolstered a course in modern Hawaiian history.
