The event is the Made in Hawai'i Festival that runs from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $2 and $1 discount coupons are available at all First Hawaiian Bank branches. Information: 533-1292 or 527-5400.

Powwow in the park

Native American dancing, music, food, arts, crafts and traditional honor ceremonies are all part of the Third Annual Warrior Society Pow Wow Saturday and Sunday at the Kapiolani Park bandstand.

The free festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. One of the highlights of the powwow will be the Grand Entry at noon Saturday when kumu hula John Keola Lake performs a blessing ceremony and gift exchange with Chief Oliver Red Cloud, hereditary chief of the Oglala Lakota nation.

Ben Lovejoy, Dakota, and Della Lovejoy, Lakota, will serve as the headman and headwoman dancers; the First Nation Singers and Blue Water will be the host drums.

The event is sponsored by the Intertribal Council of Hawai'i. Information: 947-3306.
