Cold, but not really all that cool

Food evokes memories of growing up. It inspires many a writer. It fuels romance. There are myriad ways for people to enjoy food. Reader Daniel Yamane's experience with ice cream isn't one of those ways. He reports this incident as a "slightly make shame" moment:

"One day, back when I was in high school, I went to Sears Ala Moana. While in the automotive department, I thought I'd get an ice cream cone.

"So there I was, eating an ice cream cone while walking around, two things I usually never do at the same time. Then, for some unknown reason, I decided to take the escalator upstairs.

"As I rode up to the next floor, I noticed a lot of girls at the top. Just as I stepped off the escalator, I stumbled while crushing my cone. By the time I caught myself, I'd gone about 6 feet, with the top half of my cone on the ground and the rest leaking between my fingers. I thought I was going to look cool, not feel cool.

"After that, I figured it was time to go, although I think I made quite an impression that day. Since then, I've never had a cone while shopping, unless I was sitting."
