Siufanua delivers key hits
in two Hawaii Pacific victories

AZUSA, Calif. - The Hawaii Pacific University women's softball team won two games with late-inning rallies in the NAIA Far West Regional yesterday.

In the first game, the Sea Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge California Baptist College, 5-4.

Lea Siufanua's bases-clearing double down the left-field line scored the final three runs in the seventh and sent HPU (29-10) into a winners' bracket game against host Azusa Pacific (43-11).

The ninth-ranked Cougars had defeated Southern California College, 7-0, in the regional opener.

Once again, it was Siufanua coming up with the big hit for the sixth-ranked Sea Warriors.

With the score tied at 2, Siufanua ripped a two-run, game-winning triple in the bottom of the fifth inning to advance HPU into today's championship game.

The Sea Warriors will play the winner of a loser-out game between Azusa Pacific and SCC, which eliminated Cal Baptist, 10-0.
