Miyataki to keep JAIMS on global mission

The trend toward globilization of the economy is placing even more importance on institutions such as JAIMS, a private educational institution founded in 1972 by Fujitsu Ltd.

"Our mission is for global, intercultural education and this is very timely because of the globilization of business and cultural diversity," said Glenn K. Miyataki, who will replace the retiring Fujio Matsuda on July 1. Matsuda will become a board of trustees member.

JAIMS provides training for about 1,200 people a year.

Miyataki currently is associate dean in the College of Business Administration at the University of Hawaii. He has been involved in international management and has worked with firms in China, Hong Kong and Japan. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics at UH and his master's degree and doctorate in business at the University of Colorado.
