Service Corps of Retired Executives: Open house for business counseling to discuss management issues from record-keeping and inventory to marketing and employment policies, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.May 14.

"Marketing and Advertising for Small Business" workshop, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.May 15. Learn creative ideas and methods to identify and reach key markets. Cost: $25 including materials and coffee. Deadline: May 13. An extra $10 is charged for late registration.

Women in Business Committee: "Finding $$$ to Do Business," University of Hawaii at Hilo, Campus Center, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 10, includes a panel presentation of women entrepreneurs sharing their stories about the road to success and how creative financing paved the route. Also features a lenders' fair with representatives from banks, financial groups and small business service providers. Cost $25, registration includes workshop materials and refreshments. Hawaii State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division: Meet a lawyer/Child ID Kit Clinics/Voter Registration Drive, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 4 Daiei Kaheka, Windward Mall Shopping Center, Laie Foodland and Mililani Shopping Center. A canned food drive to benefit the Life Foundation will be held at each location.
