Kahuku coast hike: Inger Lidman leads a shoreline hike along the northern tip of Oahu, looking for shorebirds and native plants, Saturday. Five miles, six and a half hours. Costs $5. Call the Hawai`i Nature Center at 955-0100.

Kaena Point nature walk: With Charles Lamoureux, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Costs $12. Call Lyon Arboretum at 988-7378.

Pupukea summit hike: Five-mile hike for novices along a part of the Ko`olau Summit Trail, with Kost Pankiwskyj of the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club, 8 a.m. Sunday. Costs $2. Call 638-7853.

Opus 16 Fun Run: Participants are encouraged to come in costume for the Honolulu Symphony's four-mile run through Kahala on April 28. Entry fee $17 in advance, $25 that day. Forms available at Honolulu Symphony Offices at 677 Ala Moana, running stores, Aloha Petroleum Mini Marts and Compadres in Ward Centre. Or call 521-3081.
