Architect in real estate post at Amfac/JMB

Maui real estate activities for Amfac/ JMB Hawaii Inc. will now be managed by Jim E. Shimozono, an architect with 28 years of experience.

"Mainly, the work here is overseeing real estate investment," Shimozono said. "We'll be doing a lot of entitlement work (for planning approvals with government)." Amfac/JMB is working on its master plan for the Kaanapali resort and an area mauka of the highway.

Shimozono had his own architectural practice, based in Orange, Calif., and did shopping centers, commercial offices, health care facilities and residential projects. His community service interests include affordable housing for seniors. Shimozono also was involved in the Rainbow Place condominium in Moiliili.

Shimozono earned a bachelor's degree in architecture at the University of Southern California and holds architect licenses in California and Hawaii.
