Cadinha exec searches for investments

Stock and bond research, portfolio management and client relations at Cadinha & Co. are now the responsibility of Bradley F. Totherow.

"We're looking for new ideas and investment products. That means I'll be traveling to the mainland to get to know companies better. We're more cautious for the next three to six months until the (national) election," Totherow said.

The company's main goal is to increase its equity performance, he said.

The role of chief investment officer formerly was held by Harlan J. Cadinha, who will continue as chief investment strategist and chairman.

Totherow joined the company in 1988 as a research analyst and became a partner in 1994. He earned a bachelor's degree in business at Colorado State University.

He also is a founder and director of Chorus Limited, a Hawaii-based on-line information service.

Cadinha & Co., founded 17 years ago, now has branches in Phoenix, Ariz. and Nashville, Tenn.
