Kamado Agena of Honolulu, a retired vegetable and flower farmer, died Jan. 23 in Maluhia Hospital. Agena, 97, was born on Okinawa. He is survived by sons Masaru and George; daughters Alice Agena and Betty Naito; and two grandchildren. Private services.

Patricia H. Chong of Hilo, a retired self-employed vender, will be remembered in services April 11. Chong, 75, died March 25 after a truck hit her on a sidewalk in Hilo. Edith O. Cook of Honolulu died April 3 at home. Cook, 87, was born in Honolulu. She is survived by sons George W. Jr. and William E. Maxwell S. Doty of Honolulu, a marine biologist and professor emeritus for the University of Hawaii, died April 3 at home. Doty, 79, was born in Oregon. Violet K.Y.L. Hoo of Mililani, an independent distributor for Neo-Life Co. of America, died April 3 at home. Hoo, 73, was born in Hawaii. Lynne Lindquist of Kaneohe, an International Life Support paramedic, died April 5 in Queen's Hospital. Lindquist, 37, was born in Honolulu. Choken Maekawa, a North Kohala, Hawaii, boxer who made it to the 1956 Melbourne Olympics but failed to qualify for bouts when he turned up an ounce overweight, died April 6 at home. Maekawa, 61, who received a boxing scholarship at Michigan State, became a teacher. Maekawa retired from Waiakea Intermediate School. Maekawa is survived by wife Ruby; sons Schoen Maekawa and Kyle Nakayama; daughters Colleen Masukawa, Dawn Sumida, Treva Underwood, Tori Bal and Karla Maekawa; brothers Takeo, Chosei and Haruo; sister Ruth Higa; and 15 grandchildren.
