Wilton, Kokx to be honored by QB Club

Aaron Wilton
University of Hawaii men's volleyball player Aaron Wilton and UH women's golf coach Bobbi Kokx have been named the Honolulu Quarterback Club's March Sportspersons of the Month.

Wilton was UH's kill leader in three matches and runner-up twice as the Rainbows compiled a 10-0 record during March.

Kokx, in her first season with the Wahine, guided UH to its first-ever collegiate victory last month in the Lady Bronc Golf Classic in Harlingen, Texas.

GENTLE CITED

University of Hawaii freshman Kelly Gentle was named the Big West Conference co-pitcher of the week for her efforts last week.

Gentle did not give up an earned run in three consecutive complete games.

Last Friday, Gentle outpitched conference ERA leader Tammy Dietrich in Hawaii's 3-1 victory over Long Beach State, but lost a heartbreaker in Friday's second game when the 49ers used an error and a suicide squeeze in the bottom of the eighth for a 1-0 win.

Gentle, 14-6 with a 2.30 ERA, shared the weekly honor with Long Beach State's Amy Miner.
