These volunteers have completed work on 37 homes and four nonprofit centers under the banner of Christmas in April-Oahu, a nonprofit group launched in 1992 by Junior League of Honolulu.
"Christmas in April is an opportunity for individuals to help their less fortunate neighbors by donating just one day of their time," said Sarah Heegard, public relations committee co-chair.
The volunteers will work on 21 homes and one nonprofit center on April 27. Work is completed in one day.
Jobs at these homes include building wheelchair ramps, shoring up foundations, cleaning yards, fixing roofs, installing handicap fixtures, replacing screens, floors, carpets and linoleum and placing smoke detectors in all homes.
