Hyatt's Ham to Go makes Easter easier

Would you rather hunt for Easter eggs than hunt for dinner ingredients? Then color your Eastertide celebration with the Hyatt Regency Waikiki's Ham to Go spread.

Starting tomorrow, order a complete Easter ham dinner for four to six. The menu features a six- to seven-pound honey-glazed ham with pineapple-raisin sauce. Side dishes include corn chowder, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, green beans with almonds, rolls with butter, cucumber namasu and apple pie.

Call 923-1234 daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., through April 6. Cost is $64.95 plus tax. Pickup is Sunday, April 7, in front of the hotel - before or after the Easter egg hunt.

Best buys

Artichokes and asparagus, two harbingers of spring's bounty, are produce best buys this week. Safeway offers two artichokes for a dollar; Foodland and Times feature asparagus at $1.58 and $1.59 a pound, respectively. Also, Daiei is selling asparagus for $1.88 and Star's price is $1.99 a pound.

Other inviting values include Ka'u oranges at three pounds for $1.87 at Sack N Save; apple bananas at 89 cents a pound at Times; and cabbage at 28 cents a pound at Daiei.

Rounding out the buys are head lettuce for 49 cents a pound at Star and Northwest russet potatoes at five pounds for $1.58 at Daiei.
