Choice to market 5 Hawaii hotels

The Castle Group Inc., a large Hawaii hotel and resort management company, said a new affiliation with Choice Hotels International will bring a new identity, and a worldwide marketing and reservations system to five neighbor island hotels.

The 200-room Hanalei Bay Resort & Suites on Kauai will carry the words "A Clarion Resort" in its title, to designate its affiliation with Choice. The 283-room Hilo Hawaiian Hotel on the Big Island, the 315-room Kamaole Sands on Maui, the 100-room Maui Eldorado and the 77-room Kaluakoi Villas on Molokai will each be tagged "A Quality Resort," another Clarion designation.

Rick Wall, chairman and chief executive of Castle, said Castle retains management control of the hotels.

Choice Hotels, which markets more than 3,600 hotels in 40 countries, is a subsidiary of Manor Care Inc.
